Stage II, 45 min concert, repertoire of your choice
In Stage II each quartet shall present a balanced program of not more than 45 minutes of music showing understanding of different styles. The program must contain music by a minimum of three different composers: one of them being from the following list of Trondheim Chamber Music Festival’s festival composers and previous TICC commissions (contact ticc@kamfest.no for non-published scores, purchased scores will be refunded for quartets who are invited and have participated at TICC):

For the rest of the programme for this concert, you are free to choose from the entire string quartet repertoire except for the works you have chosen for Stage I and Final. Individual movements of works are permitted, also of works from the list above, but excerpts of movements are not allowed. With this programme you have the opportunity to demonstrate both excellence in performance and skill in curating. Time requirements of this round should be strictly observed.
Each quartet will submit a short, written description of the thought behind the chosen programme (max 150 words). The written description should provide the listener, both audience and jurors, insight into the ideas behind the works.

Ståle Kleiberg: Commissioned quartet
New work of about 5-8 minutes commissioned specially by the competition from a Norwegian composer. Arrangements will be made for all contestants to receive a score and parts for this work approximately two months in advance of the competition.
