Jury leader Levon Chilingirian announced the results of the first round at 15:45 on 24 September in the Freemason Hall in Trondheim. Some of the best young string quartets in the world have gathered to compete in the beautiful Freemason Hall in Trondheim. The best will take home money, concert engagements, honours and glory.
Since its inception in 2000, the Trondheim Chamber Music Competition has steadily increased its international reputation, which is reflected in a rising number of applications from young ensembles who want to compete in Trondheim. Previous winners include chamber groups such as The Danish String Quartet, Van Kuijk Quartet and Trio con brio Copenhagen.

The second round of the competition has a new twist this year:
Each quartet must present a balanced program of music showing understanding of different styles. The program must contain music by at least three different composers, one of whom is among the Trondheim Chamber Music Festival's festival composers or a previous TICC commission.
The second round will be streamed on YouTube and Amadeus TV.

1st prize: 15,000 EURO + festival engagements
