Erinys Quartet, Motus Quartet and Absalon String Quartet advanced to the Final of the Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition (TICC) 2025. The final will take place in the Freemason Hall in Trondheim on Saturday 27 September at 17:00. It will also be streamed live.
All participants prepare around three hours of music divided into several rounds, including the commissioned work "A Pastoral Elegy" for string quartet by Ståle Kleiberg. The work will be premiered at the Final and you can read more about Ståle Kleiberg on his website.
The commissioned work is supported by the Composers' Fund.
At the Final, the quartets will also perform music by Schubert and Beethoven. There are cash prizes of more than 300,000 NOK and concert engagements, in addition to a print by the artist Eigil Nordstrøm, which will be awarded to the winners.
The jury had a tough task, the level of performances was consistently high.
