Trio Opal prequalified to the 2019 Competition at the 2018 Academy. We congratulate the trio, and look forward to welcoming them to Trondheim in September 2019!
Consisting of three outstanding musicians, Trio Opal started their partnership in 2017. They have given concerts at St. Mary Perivale, Royal Academy of Music, Leatherhead Methodist Church, St Marylebone Parish Church and St. Martin-in-the-Fields. They regularly have coaching as an ensemble with their individual professors, violinist György Pauk, cellist Christopher Richter and the Academy’s Head of Piano Accompaniment, Michael Dussek. The trio consists of Yi-Shing Cheng, piano; Eriko Nagayama, violin; and Joel Siepmann, cello. The trio is Academy Representatives for the intercollegiate Piano Trio competition in Birmingham 2018.
